Looper
Who’s behind this

Built by a caddie who also worked the shop.

Looper is my project. I’m Ashton Szymanski, and I have stood on both sides of this: carrying a bag for a member, and behind a counter trying to find one for somebody.

Why Looper exists

Caddying, I learned two things quickly. A caddie program is an enormous amount of work for a course to run — which is why most courses don’t have one. And where there is one, the loops go fast. Getting consistent work was hard, and for a caddie, consistent work is the whole point.

Working the shop at a public course, I heard the other half of it. Golfer after golfer told me they would rather walk, but couldn’t carry eighteen holes, and didn’t want to push a cart either. They weren’t asking for a luxury. They were asking to play the game the way it is meant to be played.

Looper is the fix for both. A golfer who wants to walk gets someone to carry. A caddie who can’t get enough work can claim loops at any course in their area, on the days they want them. And a course with no caddie program gets caddies without having to run one.

The experience behind it

Caddying

Windsong Farm Golf Club, the 2025 and 2026 seasons — roughly 50 loops. Everything on the etiquette page is what I was taught and what I did.

In the pro shop

Cedar Creek Golf Course in Albertville, Minnesota, 2022 through 2025. Tee times, payments and pairings for up to 350 golfers a day, plus league administration, stocking and tagging merchandise. That is where I learned what a course actually has the staff and time to take on.

My own golf

Playing since 2020, currently a 6 handicap. I played for STMA High School in St. Michael, Minnesota.

Education

Villanova University — Mathematics and Economics, Honors Program, graduating May 2027.
